| well done asda! | | To reduce packaging, Asda has started selling fabric conditioner directly from pumps as a trial, rather than being sold in pre-packaged bottles. Shampoo, olive oil & fruit juice may also be sold from pumps into a pouch which can be brought back for a refill. If you shop in Asda, do make sure you use this facility and encourage them in what they're doing.

That is brilliant! I once asked the deli counter staff at our Co-op if they would put their goods directly into a clean container if I brought it with me. I was told no, because they couldn't guarantee it would be clean enough! Whilst I understand what they are saying, it would massively reduce packaging if we could all just bring our own containers for all sorts of things! But I guess Asda are doing well in starting the ball rolling. Shame the nearest one is 45 minutes drive away!!
| I am very fortunate that I have a fairly local shop that sells all household cleaning products, shampoo, handcream etc into refillable containers. My problem with Asda is their human rights record but I suppose every little helps.
