November 2010 Eco-Tip
Autumn is truly here and the ground is covered with leaves. But don't let them go to waste: they're not only useful for kicking and swishing about in! Leaves compost down to become a beautiful brown, crumbly mixture that makes a great mulch. Just pack them into a container of some sort (e.g. a metal basket or bin bag with some holes pricked in) and leave for a couple of years. You'll be amazed at the result; it really is worth it. |
